Présentation du musée :
Eclectic, collections stored at the Museum of St Jean d’Angely gather items and documentary with a large thematic diversity.

Created by the local society of Archeology (founded in 1923), the museum of St Jean d’Angely opened in 1935, converted in a city’s « Hotel Particulier » : l’Hotel d’Hausen.
Approved Musée de France in 2003, the museum of St Jean d’Angely, deeply restructured, is settled in an old 19th century building entirely refurbished that offers modern and welcoming new museographic spaces.
The permanent exhibitions split in two parts. The first one is about the chronicles of Citroen‘s expeditions in Africa, leaded in the twenties, demonstrated by a real Half-Track: the Silver Crescent and plenty of ethnographic items.
The second part shows a wild range of art of works and historic pieces: sculptures, Decorative Arts, weapons and furniture.
Since April 2010, the museum’s entrance is free for all our visitors.
NEW IN! For our younger visitors, booklets are avalaible for free at the front desk to discover the Citroen Expeditions in Africa with games and fun!
